History[edit]

Exotel, founded in 2011 by Shivakumar Ganesan, Ishwar Sridharan, and Siddharth Ramesh, evolved from an in-house solution developed for Shivakumar's earlier venture, Roopit.^[2] It secured initial funding of Rs. 25 million in March 2012.^[3]

In February 2015, Exotel acquired social media startup Croak.it! in an effort to strengthen its line of products in voice.^[4]^[5]
