eyefactive GmbH is a technology company from Hamburg, Germany[1][2] specializing in large-size MultiTouch display and Multi-User applications.

Products[edit]

eyefactive is producing large size MultiTouch screen with unlimited number of touch points and developing Multi-User applications for such large size touchscreen. eyefactive's core product is the world's first B2B app platform for large-size touchscreen systems[3]. All apps and other software products are based on the touchscreen SDK developed by eyefactive, which supports an unlimited number of touch points (multi-touch) and thus enables true multi-user applications on any touchscreen surface[4][5] The company focuses on the sub-segment "Interactive Signage", i.e. interactive systems in public spaces.[6][7][8][9] eyefactive is a partner of 3M[10][11] and SHARP / NEC.[12]

History[edit]

eyefactive was founded in Wedel (Schleswig-Holstein)[13] in 2009 by the media computer scientists Johannes Ryks and Matthias Woggon.[14][15][16] At the beginning of 2007, the two founders already developed a first prototype of a large interactive table within the scope of a study project at the University of Applied Sciences Wedel, the Cooperative Workbench [17](short: CoBench), a table with an interactive display of nearly 2 m2[18]. One of the places where the CoBench was presented was at the CeBIT 2008 trade fair in Hanover, Germany.

With a seed investment by MBG (Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Schleswig-Holstein) in 2010 [19] along with the entry of HTGF (High-Tech Gründerfond) in mid-2011,[20] technologies were further developed, and initially standardized products were established on the market.

In May 2012, eyefactive became one of the first partners for the foundation of the Digital Signage Innovation Center [21] by komma, tec GmbH in Hamburg.

In 2016, MBG Schleswig-Holstein as well as High-Tech Gründerfond invested once again in eyefactive GmbH [22][23] aiming to support the growth of the touchscreen app platform. In 2019, eyefactive GmbH relocates from Wedel in Schleswig-Holstein to Hamburg.
