FakeXrmEasy is an open-source unit testing framework for .NET and the Microsoft Power Platform, designed for Microsoft Dataverse.[1][2][3] It provides an in-memory simulation of Dataverse services so that plugins, custom workflow activities, and other server-side components can be tested without connecting to a live Dataverse environment.[4]

The framework was first developed for Dynamics CRM 2011 and has since been updated to support later Dynamics 365 and Dataverse releases.[5] Microsoft's developer documentation lists FakeXrmEasy as a community tool for server-side Dataverse testing.[6][7]

The framework emulates Dataverse operations, including query translation for FetchXML, QueryExpression, and LINQ requests. It is compatible with modern .NET environments, including .NET Core, and can be integrated with testing frameworks such as xUnit.net, NUnit, and MSTest. Some packages that depend on Windows-specific components, such as those requiring System.Activities, are limited to the Windows platform.[8]

FakeXrmEasy is available via NuGet and maintained on GitHub.[9][10][11]
