Fakhrul Zaman bin Wan Abdullah Zawawi (born 13 April 1994) is a Malaysian footballer who plays for Kelantan United as a forward. He was nicknamed Low by his teammates.[2]
Club career
Early career
Fakhrul started his career with the Kelantan U19 team in 2013. He was also part of the runner-up team of Kelantan U19 Malaysia Youth League in 2013. Due to his excellent performance with the team, he was promoted to Kelantan U21 by the Kelantan U21 head coach at that time, Sideek Samsudin, and eventually helped the team to lift the 2013 Malaysia President Cup; he was also one of the top scorers for the team.[3] In December 2015, he, along with his teammates from the President Cup team, was promoted to the senior squad for the 2016 Malaysia Super League campaign.[4]
Fakhrul was offered to join the Harimau Muda program twice but had to reject both offers because of an injury which happened to occur at the time he was offered. In 2012, he had a waist injury and had to reject the offer to join Harimau Muda which was under the guidance of Mat Zan Mat Aris at that time. In 2013, he had a hamstring injury and also had to reject the offer to play with the national team reserve squad.
Kelantan
On 23 April 2016, he made his first appearance for Kelantan in a 3–0 home victory over Terengganu in the Malaysia Super League and scored his first goal in that match.[5]
MIFA (loan)
On 29 June 2017, Fakhrul was loaned to Malaysia Premier League club MISC-MIFA on a six-month loan deal.[6] He returned to Kelantan after his contract expired.
