Family Fantastic
Family Fantastic is a UK synthpop band, founded by musician Phil Creswick (who was part of the British band Big Fun between 1988 and 1994) and keyboardist Vince Clarke, known for having founded Depeche Mode and Yazoo and since 1985, joined forces with Andy Bell to form the successful duet Erasure.
History
In 2000, Vince Clarke decided to undertake a side project with Phil Creswick.[1]. Together they formed the group Family Fantastic, adding the voices of Valerie Chalmers, Emma Whittle, Paul Holgate, Clare Barnaby-Smith and Francis Hernandez, launching the album ... Nice! that same year.[2] The group also includes producer Jason Creasey.[3]. Chalmers and Whittle had already participated in numerous Erasure tours with Clarke.
In 2007, Phil Creswick, Jason Creasy, Valerie Chalmers and Emma Whittle released a single, You Are The Melody, with which they participated in the "Eurovision" contest, but Vince Clarke was not part of it.[4]
In 2008, they released a second album, Wonderful, where Phil Creswick continues in the band and marks the return of Vince Clarke, and the departure of Valerie Chalmers and Emma Whittle. On the other hand, James Gray, Daphne Diamant and Nick Carter are incorporated, who did so as special guests.[5]
