Fayaz Ahmad Lone (Arabic: فايز أحمد لون ‎) is from Indian Kashmir and is an Islamic Finance Scholar[1] now working in Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir, India[2]. Before this he has worked as Assistant Professor in Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University formally known as Salman bin Abdulaziz University at Saudi Arabia.[3] He has completed PhD from Aligarh Muslim University[4] India on the topic 'Islamic finance an analysis of compatibility of its objectives and achievements'[5].[6] World Database for Islamic Banking and Finance[7] is his website, which is related to Islamic Banking and Finance. Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions: A Study of their Objectives and Achievements is his latest book[8][9] [10]which was published by Palgrave Macmillan. In addition he is also the editor of International Journal of Economics and Finance.[11] Dr Fayaz is working for the promotion of Islamic banking and finance through electronic and print media like conferences[12],[13] workshops, Articles[14] [15]etc. Recently[when?] he spoke on Islamic Banking in which he was of the opinion that in order to sustain equitable growth, the world's only option was to adopt Islamic banking.[16]
