An engine of national economic growth
From 1970 onwards, the group diversified its activities from trading to industrial production. This began with the acquisition of Adamjee, now Fecto Sugar Mills Limited in early 1975, followed by the establishment of another sugar mill in 1978. This led to the establishment of an allied particleboard and medium-density fiberboard (MDF) board plant.
Bolstered by its initial successes, the group ventured into the progressive manufacturing of agricultural tractors and farm equipment, including various types of agricultural implements.
Another major milestone in the group's progress was the establishment of a state-of-the-art, pollution-free cement plant with a capacity of 2000 tons per day. This also facilitated the launching of allied industries, including two paper sack units located near the cement plant.
The Group manages three publicly listed and four privately held companies, besides having substantial stakes in many other projects.
