Feed Me Jack was an indie/alternative rock band, founded by Sven Gamsky and Robert Luisi "Bob" Ross in 2011, and disbanded in 2016.[1] Over their tenure, the band released one album and two extended plays, as well as one cover album. They are most well known for being an early musical project for the artist, Still Woozy, which Gamsky began soon after in 2017.[2]

History[edit]

In 2011, whilst attending the Univeristy of California, Santa Cruz, freshman Sven Gamsky heard guitar playing from somewhere on the campus and followed the sound to the room of the previously unacquainted Robert Ross.[3] The two became quick friends after bonding over their similar musical interests. They later started the band and began producing music along with members Glenn Carson and Jake Thornton, uploading their songs onto Bandcamp.

Their song "Radiohead Song" was played and recorded live around June 2012, and uploaded onto YouTube shortly after by Ross.[4]

The band released their debut album, Chumpfry, on September 29th 2012. Some time between this release and the next, founding member and drummer, Glenn Carson, left the band, with Cameron Lampert and Eric Karl Lawson joining shortly after.[5]

Their first EP, Anatolia, was released on October 25th 2013.[5]

The band attended Operation Restore Maximum Freedom XV, a non-profit music festival, on May 23rd 2015.[6]

Feed Me Jack released an album of cover songs entitled Covers with new member, Nikki Mokover, on June 1st 2015.[7]

On January 14th 2016, the band released their second EP and final musical project, Ultra Ego.[8]

Later that year, on April 5th, the band announced that they would be parting ways on good terms, in order to focus on individual solo projects. Gamsky continues his music career under the stage name Still Woozy; Ross releases music under the name Bobbing[9]; Lampert and Lawson have started a new band, Red Two Six.[10]
