Felipe Neto Rodrigues Vieira (born January 21, 1988) is a Brazilian manager, vlogger, actor, comedy actor, and writer. He is a well known YouTuber in Brazil, and with over 23 million subscribers[1] his channel is the 23rd most-subscribed on the website. He started his YouTuber career by talking about celebrities, movies, daily activities in some criticizing or comic way, being the first YouTube channel to reach 1 million subscribers in Brazil[2]. He is also the brother of Luccas Neto, another YouTuber. Currently, his videos focus on general entertainment.

Felipe is the founder of Paramaker, a business of network inside of YouTube, which owns channels like Parafernalha, IGN Brasil Network, managing approximately 5 thousand channels, as an effort to professionalize the online video market in Brazil.

Biography and career[edit]

Felipe Neto was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, in the neighborhood of Engenho Novo, son of a Brazilian father and a Portuguese mother, he has dual Brazilian and Portuguese citizenship. Coming from a humble background, he began working at the age of 13 in a store that traded metal items for street vendors. When he turned 14, he opened a business of "telemensagem" due to the incompetence of its clients, but ended shortly afterwards. At the same time, as a teenager, he took theater classes and performed in some shows.

In April 2010 he started to upload videos on his channel approaching themes around the time, making criticisms to behaviors and attitudes of artists and of the population itself, usually in some comic and aggressive way. Quickly, his channel began to gain media attention. Videos talking about subjects that bothered him at the time, especially those related to the forms of entertainment stereotypically associated with the young female audience, caused great repercussion and diverse opinions among Internet users.

After the internet success and the media repercussion in the media, Felipe participated in advertising campaigns and became advertising boy of some brands.

Still, in 2010, Felipe Neto declined an invitation to work as a reporter for a TV show in Brazil and on December 11 at the same year he came on the air with the program 'Será Que Faz Sentido?' (Does it Make Sense?) at the Multishow Chanel, which consisted of showing the story of a young actor to make a TV show.

In May 2011, Burrito, Accompanied by Fábio Nunes, premiered a daily participation in a sports program, where they both made brief humorous scenes about the sports world. In July of the same year, he participated in another program on the Multishow channel, entitled Até que Faz Sentido (It Does Make Sense!), where he heard the opinions of several people on different subjects, such as traffic, consumerism, inconvenient people and also gave his own opinion, but with less informality than was presented on the internet.

In August 2012, his YouTube channel reached 1 million subscribers, being the first Portuguese-language channel to reach that mark.

In 2013, he premiered the web series A Toca, produced by Parafernalha for the paid service of Internet TV Netflix.

On March 11, 2014, he announced on his social networks that he would take a three-week course at Harvard University. He took the first module of the OPM (Owner / President Manager) program, a short course for entrepreneurs, and plans to make the second and third modules in 2016 and 2017.

In the second half of 2015, Felipe began the rehearsals of his new work in theater, the show My Life Does not Make Sense, inspired by his channel, which will be recorded and released exclusively for Netflix Brazil. On September 22, 2015, Felipe announced the return of "Do not Make Sense" to his channel, which until then had had a certain drop in productivity. In December, after a break from his show, he embarked for Las Vegas and recorded the web series #LasVegasREAL for Grupo It Brazil, alongside actor Maurício Meirelles; The same project of webseries #offtocruise and offtony. In December 2016 they recorded the websie-reality #MIAMIREAL for It It Brazil Group, also alongside the actor Maurício Meirelles.

Paramaker Network[edit]

In 2011, Felipe founded the "Paramaker Network", the first network company within Brazilian YouTubers, aimed at professionalizing the branch. In December 2012, he signed a partnership with Maker Studios of the United States.

In October 2015, Felipe sold the control of the "Paramaker Network" to the French media company Webedia, and the company's current CEO is the French-Argentine Luther Peczan. Webedia owns the many sites like AdoroCinema, IGN, TudoGostoso, PurePeople, PureBreak and publishes several sites of brands like Extraordinary Beauty for the company L'Oréal. Thus, Felipe Neto became responsible for the creative nucleus of the company.
