First Person Shooter: The Definitive FPS Documentary is an upcoming documentary film by CreatorVC about the history of first person shooter video games. Crowdfunding of the film began on June 29, 2021, and production started in August. It is expected to release in December 2022.[1]

CreatorVC CEO Robin Block decided to produce a documentary about video games as he noticed an absence of other documentaries on the subject, choosing first person shooters specifically as it is a genre he grew up with.[2] The project began in February 2021.[3]
Crowdfunding of First Person Shooter via Kickstarter began on June 29, 2021,[4][5] with an initial goal of $44,327,[6] which it surpassed within one day.[7] Production of the film began in late August that year.[3]
Overview[edit]
First Person Shooter will detail the history of first person shooters, from their beginnings in the 1970s with games such as Maze War, to the present day. The film will contain interviews with the developers of over 35 influential first person shooter games such as Cliff Bleszinski, John Romero, and Robin Walker.[6]
