Flashpoint is an international technology investment firm that manages venture capital, secondary buy-out and venture debt funds.

The company was founded in 2012 by Michael Szalontay and Alexander Konoplyasty. The founders met in 1998, while studying at university. Within a few years, Flashpoint has grown from two founders and $10 million in assets to 30 employees and $500 million in assets under management. Flashpoint now has offices in six countries – Israel, Latvia, Cyprus, Finland, Hungary, the United Kingdom.[1]
Flashpoint funds invest in software companies launched by teams originating from Central and Eastern Europe, Baltics, Finland, Israel.[2] Notable companies that Flashpoint invested in early on include IVI.tv,[3] Chili Piper, AllRight, BoardMaps, Bonusway, Borzo, CaliberMind, Chess.com, Comeet, Estimote, Getintent, Growbots, Guesty,[4] GuruShots, IntelliBoard, MarketMan, Netology, Officernd, Shazam,[5] Welcome, Telemedico, GoCube,[6] Qmenta, Dispelix, Mercaux, Bllink, Accel Club, Allset, Trusstor, testRigor,[7] Tomi.ai, WowFit.
The company has successfully completed investments in more than 40 tech businesses. The company has also achieved 11 exits, including the sale of Shazam to Apple[8] and Chess.com to Mark Scheinberg, PokerStars founder, and General Atlantic.[9]
Flashpoint has three divisions:
- Flashpoint Venture Capital – Invests in early-stage software companies.
- Flashpoint Venture Debt – lends capital to B+ stage software companies.
- Flashpoint Secondary – buys equity from early-stage shareholders in advanced stages.
