Oxx is a European venture capital firm headquartered in London and Stockholm. The firm invests in business-to-business (B2B) software companies across Europe that have achieved early commercial traction and are scaling their operations.[1][2]
Background
Oxx was founded in 2017 by Richard Anton and Mikael Johnsson.[3] Anton served as Chair of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) in 2011.[4] The firm focuses on the “go-to-market fit” stage, supporting software companies that have validated their product and are building scalable commercial models.[5]
In 2020, Oxx announced the close of its first fund; public sources report totals around $133 million / €122.9 million.[6][7] Investors included British Patient Capital.[8]
In 2023, Oxx announced the close of its second fund at $190 million (€173 million), backed by institutional and private investors across Europe and North America.[1][2][5]
Investments
The firm's investments reflect its focus on B2B software companies across analytics, infrastructure, and AI-enabled solutions. Oxx's portfolio includes several European software companies, such as:
- Funnel, a marketing data platform (pre-IPO round in 2021).[9]
- Gravitee.io, an API management platform (Series A co-led by AlbionVC and Oxx; later recognised as a Leader in Gartner's 2024 Magic Quadrant for API Management).[10][11]
- Goodlord, a UK-based property platform (Series B, 2020).[12][13]
