Fletcher and the Falling Leaves is a children's book written by Julia Rawlinson and illustrated by Tiphanie Beeke. Released by Greenwillow Books in 2006, it is about a fox who realizes his favorite tree is losing leaves. Rawlinson and Beeke have collaborated on other books about Fletcher, such as Fletcher and the Springtime Blossoms (2009).[1]

Reception[edit]

Kirkus Book Reviews wrote: "Softly glowing illustrations, evocative and full of depth, are perfectly matched with the warm and lyrical text. A poetic tribute to winter and fall, Fletcher’s story is sure to resonate with young readers."[2] Publisher's Weekly wrote: "Beeke's (The Stars Will Still Shine) attractive watercolors are a good match for British author Rawlinson's poetic tale of a small fox who tries to save a tree's autumn leaves."[3] They also praised the sparkling image of the tree on the last page, saying "Nonetheless, the last image of the sparkling, snowy tree will likely surprise and delight young readers."[3] and "When Fletcher finally wakes up to find his tree 'hung with a thousand icicles, shining silver in the early light,' the blue-toned, frosty tree is adorned with literal glitter on the page."[3]
