Floribunda pusilliflora is a species of cactus in the family Cactaceae native to Brazil.[1][2][3]
Description
F. pusilliflora is a species of clustering cactus found on cliffs and the Campos rupestres biome of Brazil. With many ribs, stems can reach up to 1 m (3 ft 3 in) high, upright, but sometimes somewhat leaning. Flowers are pink and present on mature specimens; no cephalium is present. Fruits are similar to that of Arrojadoa.[4]
Taxonomy
It was first described in 1979 by the German botanist Friedrich Ritter as F. pusilliflora; this name was reclassified as Cipocereus pusilliflorus in 1991.[5] In 2022, F. pusilliflora was reclassified under the name Arrojadoa pusilliflorus. Currently, the name Floribunda pusilliflora is accepted as the valid name.
Etymology
The specific epithet "pusilliflora" refers to the small flowers of this species.
