Folk Uke is an American folk music duo, combining vocals with guitar and ukulele. Their music is characterized by a gentle background and satirical, humorous lyrics.
History of the band
Cathy Guthrie and Amy Nelson met in San Diego, California, at a bar where they both worked.[2][3] The band formed around the year 2000.[4]
Typically, Amy Nelson plays guitar and Cathy Guthrie plays ukulele, with both contributing vocals.[5]
Cathy Guthrie is the daughter of Arlo Guthrie and Amy Nelson is the daughter of Willie Nelson.[6][7][8] Their fathers have occasionally appeared on their albums.[9]
Songs from their self-titled album have appeared in four films since their 2005 release. "Motherfucker Got Fucked Up" (Cathy Guthrie/Amy Nelson) was included in the film Indie Jonesing (2012), Snoop Dogg's G7 (2015), and the season four premiere of Orange is the New Black (2016).
"Knock Me Up" (Cathy Guthrie/Amy Nelson/Lana Nelson) was featured in Jay Chandrasekhar's The Babymakers (2012).

Reincarnation
Their second album was released in 2011.[10] The album features Shooter Jennings, as well as Amy's brother Lukas and Cathy's brother Abe, who played piano and engineered and mixed most of the album's tracks.[11]
