Fool (chess)
The fool, also known as the jester,[1] is a fairy chess piece, which was created for Omega Chess Advanced.
Movement[edit]
The fool copies the move of the last piece moved by the other player,[2] or, if the last move made was a pawn promotion, then the fool copies that promotion. If the last piece moved was the king, the fool may not castle, nor be subject to check/checkmate. If the last piece moved was a pawn, the fool may not move two squares, nor promote. If the last move was a pawn promotion, then the fool gains the ability of the piece that pawn promoted to, unless that promotion was to a fool, to which the fool acts as a pawn. In Brybelly's Faerie Chess, the fool is referred to as a Jester, and must replace the queen. The Jester in Faerie Chess moves like a queen, but it can't capture, nor be captured.[3] In Courier Chess, it moves like a wazir.
