Football Today is a football show hosted by various personalities. It is produced by the Premier League's in-house studio in London for foreign broadcasters of the league. One of the hosts is John Dykes, who hosts Football Today on Tuesdays and Fridays. He also hosts another football show known as Matchday Live for the Premier League coverage. Other hosts include Mark Pougatch of ITV Sport. In this program, various guests are invited, who generally are retired football players. During the show, the host with the guests for that specific show discuss the tactics, statistics, league table position, etc., of the two teams a few days after the match or a few days before the match. They also debate about the performance of both teams, the performance of each individual, tactical and substitution changes done by the manager, the goals scored by the teams (how it began to how it finished), and what are the rooms for improvement for both teams. Some shows are different as well. For example, in one show of the program, the transfer saga of top and famous players like Thierry Henry, Luis Suárez and Dimitar Berbatov was discussed. Football Today is, in a way, the blend of the pre- and post-show of a live football match coverage.
