Frank Miles is an American politician who has held several positions in Madison County, Illinois[3] and a planning and development position in Florida.[2]
Miles grew up in Granite City, Illinois.[3] He graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1983 with a B.S. in Government and Public Affairs and in 1988 with a Masters of Public Administration.[4]
Miles was the District Chief of Staff for Democratic U.S. Congressman Jerry F. Costello.[3] Miles eventually became city administrator of O'Fallon, Illinois, then afterwards Director of Planning and Development for Madison County, Illinois.[3]
He was appointed to the elected office of Madison County Treasurer in late 2009 after the retirement of Fred Bathon, but was defeated by Republican challenger Kurt Prenzler in the November 2, 2010 general election.[3] In December 2010, Miles became business development manager at the Tri-City Regional Port District, a $75,000/year job, which the port district's executive director Dennis Wilmsmeyer refused to disclose when Miles started the job,[3] even though the port district is a public body.[5]
Miles was a township trustee of Edwardsville Township from 2009 to 2013,[1] when he was appointed to the elected office of Edwardsville Township Supervisor in 2013.[2] He was also appointed as manager of community development for Madison County in July 2014.[4]
By 2017 Miles lived in Glen Carbon, Illinois.[1] Though re-elected as Edwardsville Township Supervisor in April 2017, he resigned in 2017 to become planning and development director for North Port, Florida.[2]
