Frontier Airlines Flight 4345 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Denver, Colorado, to Los Angeles, California, in the United States. On May 8 2026, the Airbus A321neo, struck a person on runway 17L[1], and subsequently also experienced an engine fire, leading to the pilots aborting the takeoff.[1] Passengers were evacuated by the crew[2] following reports by the pilots to ATC, signalling to smoke and possibly fire within the cabin.[1][3]
Response
Following the incident, emergency crews extinguished the fire in the engine, and passengers were shuttled to the terminals.[4][1][3] 231 people were onboard, and at least one person suffered minor injuries. The individual in question according to ABC7, was partially consumed by the engine and killed[1], Denver Airport and other news sources have yet to release a statement surrounding the death of the pedestrian.[1][5] Frontier Airlines has responded to the accident, stating that they were investigating the incident, and that all passengers were evacuated via slides as a matter of precaution following reports of smoke within the cabin.[6][3]
