GD Prado is a Portuguese sports club founded on the 18th of September 1926 that is best known for its senior association football team.[1] The club currently plays in AF Braga Pro-nacional.[2] The club is based in Vila de Prado.[2] In 1943, due to the initiative of Quirino de Sousa Lima, the club began playing federation sport and rented an area where they would build the Campo Sousa Lima, where they would hold home matches. However, years later, the club would start holding home matches at the Complexo Desportivo do Faial.[1][2] The 1976/1977 season was the first one where the club won a competition, winning that season's AF Braga Taça and AF Braga 1ª Divisão. The latest competition they have won is the 2004/2005 AF Braga 1ª Divisão.[3] The highest tier of the Portuguese league system in which the club has played is the now defunct II Divisão, in which they played only one season (1979/1980).[4] In 2022, the club appointed their current manager (Rui Vasquinho), replacing Márcio Azevedo.[5] The club's current president is João Ferreira, who was elected to the role on the 30th of June 2022, replacing the previous president Miguel Gomes.[6]
