Gaki Deka (Japanese: がきデカ) is a Japanese Shōnen manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuhiko Yamagami. It was published from 1974 to 1980 in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Champion, owned by Akita Shoten, with a total of 26 volumes. It received an animated television adaptation by Gallop, which was aired on Fuji TV from 1989 to 1990. It also received an OVA, produced by Daiei Film and aired in November 1989.
Thirty years after the original manga run, a sequel named Nakaharu Koko-kun was serialized in Shogakukan's magazine Big Comic from 2004 to 2009, with two volumes.
Synopsis[edit]
The manga is featured by The First (Self-Proclaimed) Boy Police Officer Koman, who is the main character, and his classmates at the "Sakoming Elementary School" he attends.[1]
Reception[edit]
By November 2017, the original 1974 run had 30 million copies sold.[1]
