Wife and Wife (Japanese: ふ〜ふ Hepburn: Fu-fu) is a Japanese yuri manga series written and illustrated by manga author Hisanari Minamoto.[1] The manga began serialization in the December 2009 issue of Comic Yuri Hime S and ended in January 2013. As the magazine was closed on occasion with No. 14 and was absorbed by "Comic Yuri Hime ", it was transferred, with the March issue of 2013 serialized. It has a total of two volumes.[2]
Plot[edit]
The story takes a look into the day of the life of Suu and Kina that have recently moved in together as a lesbian couple. We simply get an insight into their everyday life and experience events like buying a bed together, going on a short trip or just meeting up with some friends.
Characters[edit]
- Kinana Himefuji (姫藤喜菜々 Himefuji Kinana)
- Kina is the main character of the story and Suu-chan's girlfriend. She is gentle and a bit of an airhead. She can be a bit of an aggressive schemer but she only puts her powers to use when she wants to fool around with Suu-chan.
- Sumi Miyako (都寿美 Miyako Sumi)
- Suu-chan is the second main character of the story and Kinana's girlfriend. She is always quick with a comeback, but her occasional tendency to lose control is the one chink in her armor. Or maybe her most powerful weapon. She is super-duper crazy in love with Kina. Her hobby is sleeping with Kina in her arms. The reason why she works from home is to allow more potential time to flirt with Kina.
- Kanana Himefuji (姫藤 嘉菜々 Himefuji Kanana)
- Kinana's fractionally older twin sister. She is carefree about barging into Kinana's life, to Kinana's annoyance; it's revealed that she even had a spare key made for Kinana and Sumi's apartment without the couple's knowledge. She's a clothing designer by trade. With her charming appeal, she is shown capable of swooning most other women effortlessly. This has led to a life of mostly casual relationships. When Hotori Shirayuki doesn't immediately fall to her advances, she believes she is losing her edge.
- Hayase Oomori (大守 はやせ Oomori Hayase)
- One of Kinana and Sumi's next door neighbors. She lives together with Ogasawara Komugi, whom she is in a romantic relationship with. She is the carefree and socially honest half of the couple. Her job as an animal beautician sometimes leaves her with a physically roughed up appearance, leading to at least one instance where someone mistook her bandages as evidence of possible domestic abuse.
- Komugi Ogasawara (小笠原 小麦 Ogasawara Komugi)
- One of Kinana and Sumi's next door neighbors. She lives together with Oomori Hayase, whom she is in a romantic relationship with. She is the aggressive and socially hostile half of the couple. When embarrassed by Oomori, she often attacks her physically but she controls herself to the point of never actually doing physical damage. Her clothing styles are a reference to the La Croix designs from Alice Quartet.
- Shirayuki Hotori (畔 白雪 Hotori Shirayuki)
- A college student, who works part time at a bakery. She is the first woman to not immediately fall to Kanana's advances. This later leads to Kanana questioning as to whether she is losing her edge. However, it turns out that she is actually in love with Shirayuki. The two start dating soon after.
- Arata Ouse (Ouse Arata)
- A woman who confessed to Kina at first sight. She manages a small shop called "Rice Baller."
- Hiyori Hinagu (日奈久 ひより Hinagu Hiyori)
- Miya-chan's girlfriend. She is the hyper-energetic and the straightforward half of the relationship, often seen literally clung to Miya.
- Miya-chan (Miya)
- Hiyori's girlfriend. She is very self conscious about her inability to articulate her feelings for Hiyori.
