Gancher & Ruin
Gancher & Ruin is a Russian electronic dance music project created by twin brothers Alexey & Dmitry Goncharenko.
Career[edit]
Identical twins Alexey & Dmitry Goncharenko are music producer DJ's.
Their interest in electronic music emerged in late 2003, and by 2007 they began to release their own productions. Gancher & Ruin are known for combining a lot of genres of electronic dance music like Hardstyle & Hardcore with various sub genres of Drum and Bass, frantic breakbeats and complex arrangements. They also have also been instrumental in establishing the "crossbreed" as sub genre of Drum and Bass across a wider audience.[1] Working with DJ Ruffneck for Gancher & Ruin's Helltrap LP has introduced them to the hardcore audience.[2][3] Supported by many famous DJ's like the Panacea, Audio, Mefjus, Angerfist and Miss K8.[4]
Having worked on the music scene since 16, the Twins have are regulars on the Drum & Bass circuit, performing over the Europe.
At the age 18 they have become residents of dark drum and bass, and hardcore, Therapy Sessions and PRSPCT.[1]
In 2016, Gancher & Ruin release "the Chase EP" on Eatbrain (Drum and Bass Label) where they demonstrate a complex understanding of neurofunk, moving deftly between verdant sci-fi beauty and dense raw energy.[5]
In 2016, Gancher & Ruin release "Arsenal LP" on Mindocracy Recordings.
Gancher & Ruin have expanded their musical scope to include live shows with mashup of many music styles in one.[6]
