Gary Motykie is a plastic surgeon who has been featured on the E! reality series Dr. 90210, Discovery Channel's Plastic Surgery: Before and After, MTV's True Life, VH1, and Dr. Phil. He is in private practice as an American Board of Plastic Surgery-certified Plastic Surgeon and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in Beverly Hills, California, specializing in cosmetic plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Early life
Motykie was born in Mount Prospect, Illinois. He pursued biomedical engineering as an undergraduate.
Career
Motykie earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Illinois and his doctorate in medicine at Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago.
He completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Texas. Throughout this time, he continued to present his work nationally and authored numerous journal articles and scientific papers on a wide variety of plastic surgical topics.[citation needed] Following his residency in plastic surgery, Motykie completed an advanced cosmetic surgery fellowship in Beverly Hills, where he continues to practice today.
Since opening his practice, Motykie has been featured in the New York Times, LA Times, and Wall Street Journal, as well as having featured appearances on Dr. Phil, EXTRA, ACCESS Hollywood, ABC, SPIKE TV, and Inside Edition. He has been featured on E! Entertainment’s series Dr. 90210, the Discovery Channel’s Plastic Surgery: Before & After, VH1, and MTV's True Life. Motykie continued to present his work nationally and authored numerous journal articles and scientific papers on a wide variety of plastic surgical topics.
