Gaurav.[1][2] (better known as Gaurav Calling) (born 07 February, 1985 ) is an Indian actor, Writer and filmmaker, who works in hindi cinema. He has launched his own Film Production & Distribution company Filmania Entertainment in 2019. Gaurav is better known for his Directorial hindi short film Kkkk...Kiran[3][4]. Apart from that his another Directorial shorts are Kaash-think before you act[5], Saanjh[6], Ghutan[7], O Ri Chiraiya, Mobile and Khoob Ladi Mardaani (upcoming)[8][9]. As an actor/Director Gaurav's Debut was Kaash, Which was selected for PFF-2016 (Patna Film Festival). His another Short Kkk...Kiran was selected for best actor (male) at Nawada International Film Festival, 2021 and officially nominated for best film in various National and International Film Festivals like Inshort Film Festival 2020, Nigeria, Global Film Fest 2020, Las Vegas, Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2020, Mumbai, Habitat Film Festival 2019, Delhi and Azamgarh International Film Festival 2021. He has directed some Music albums like Hey Chhati Maai[1] & Khoob Ladi Mardani Anthem[10][11]
Gaurav has also worked as Journalist and cartoonist[12] with different media groups as HT Media, Dainik Jagran, Prabhat Khabar and Network18.
Early Life[edit]
Gaurav was born at Motihari, Bihar. He is the second child among the three children of his parents. He did his schooling from Bal Vidya Mandir, Motihari and completed his graduation (Mathematics Hons.) from M S College Motihari. During his school and college days, Gaurav was very active in acting and painting activities. After graduation, he worked as a graphic designer in different media houses ( HT media, Dainik Jagran, Prabhat Khabar and Network18.
Gaurav started his career in the entertainment industry as an actor/director in 2016 with the short film Kaash-Think Before You Act.
Meanwhile, in 2015, Gaurav published a Hindi magazine Change for You as Chief Editor from Patna. He is also the Director of Champaran Film Festival[13][14]
Film Career[edit]

Gaurav entered the entertainment industry as an actor/director in 2016. His directorial debut was short film Kaash-think before you act (2016) under the banner of Filmania Entertainment, which was nominated for best short film in PFF (Patna Film Festival-2016). The story of a boy (played by Gaurav himself), who commits suicide due to failure in love was well received by the audience.
After the success of Kaash Gaurav's next directorial venture was short film Saanjh (2017). This was the another masterpiece, based on a story of a retired old man (performed by Gaurav), who is living a life despised by his family because of illness. The film received positive reviews from critics and viewers.
Gaurav's third directorial venture was short film Ghutan (2017), which was based on a acid attack victim girl. The film was a positive impact on society and well received by critics. Laadli Roy was in the lead character in this film.
Gaurav's fourth directorial venture was a commercial short drama Kkkk Kiran (2019). The plot was based on a psycho boy who was badly influenced by the character Rahul from the 90's film Darr. Under the influence of the film, he thinks himself as Rahul and fall in one-sided love with a girl. The film starred Alok Pandey as an psycho boy. It also featured Diksha Goswami, Nalin Singh, Rakesh Choudhary and Kshitiz Mohan. Film was appreciated by viewrs, critics and various national and international film festivals[15]. It won the Best Actor Award at Nawada International Film Festival, 2021. It also nominated for Best Film Award at INSHORT Film Festival-2018, Nigeria, Global Film Festival-2018, Las vegas, 14th Habitat Film Festival-2019, Delhi, DadaSaheb Phalke International Film Festival-2019, Mumbai and Azamgarh International Film Festival-2021. Film was released on MX player worldwide in 2020.
Gaurav's next directorial venture was short film O Ri Chiraiya (2021). The film featured himself as a father, who's six year old daughter is killed after being raped. This film was also released on MX player worldwide in 2021.
Gaurav's next directorial venture was short experimental film Mobile (2021). Gaurav and Alok Pandey reunited again through this film, in which Alok Pandey appeared in a role of mobile addicted person. it was an experimental film shot by Iphone.
Gaurav's next directorial venture was a chhath festival music video (2020). It was a musical story about a corporate employee, who is unable to go home for the festival due to work pressure. It was the first collaboration of Gaurav and music director Mukesh Rajeshwari Singh under the banner of Filmania Music.
Gaurav's upcoming project as an director is about to release soon. It's a short film Khoob Ladi Mardaani, starred Diksha Goswami as lead and Akhilendra Mishra as moderator.
Actor[edit]
In addition to working as an director, Gaurav acted in his first two short films Kaash-Think before you act (2016) and Saanjh (2017). After that, he again performed as lead character in his film O Ri Chiraiya (2021). His upcoming projects as an actor is a social-comedy drama web series Jhola Chhap, in which he performed with bollywood actor Mushtaq khan and Chittaranjan Tripathy.
Film Critic/Entertainment Journalist[edit]
Apart from the entertainment industry, Gaurav also worked as an Film Critic with Prabhat Khabar and Filmania Entertainment Media House. He interviewed too many bollywood celebrities like Imtiyaz Ali, Pankaj Tripathy, Akhilendra Mishra, Late Narendra Jha, Aseem Bajaj, Atul shriwastava and Sumona Chakravarty.
Gaurav has Also worked as a cartoonist[5] with various media houses like HT media Ranchi, Dainik Jagran Patna, Prabhat Khabar Patna and Network18 filmcity Noida.
