Gbets was founded in 2005 by Goldrush Gaming Group, a gambling company which was established in 1998. The flagship brand, "Gbets", is an international gambling company that operates across regulated online marketplaces and holds licences in South Africa, Lesotho and Mozambique.[2][1]

Gbets is a sports betting company operating throughout South Africa and a subsidiary of the Goldrush Group which has a market capitalisation in excess of R2bn and employs more than 2,500 staff across the country. The group has divisions specialising in Bingo & Casino's, LPM Route operations, Retail Sports Betting and Online Gaming. The Groups major shareholders include Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) listed private equity RECM and Calibre Ltd. Gbets is licensed under Dymanex (Pty) Ltd. It is licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.[3][4]

Gbets Product[edit]

In 2019, Gbets migrated onto a new betting software platform called "BetConstruct", Independent gaming review company.[5][6]

Gbets is also the first to introduce Live In-Play Multiview to South Africa; allowing desktop users the ability to bet on multiple live events simultaneously on one screen.[7]

Sponsorship[edit]

On 1 December 2018, Gbets sponsored the 2018 Gbets Gauteng Summer Cup horse racing extravaganza at Turffontein Racecourse.[8][9][10]

Social Responsibility[edit]

Under the banner of the GoldRush Gaming Group, Gbets embarks on CSI initiatives that aim to complement the commitments made as a licensee and as a socially and economically responsible participant in the South African economy. Its undertaking is to primarily provide financial, technical and other assistance to the communities in which they operate. The group funds project-based interventions and infrastructure in the focus areas such as Entrepreneurship, Small Business Development, Sport development, Cultural development, Environment, Welfare Poverty Alleviation, Employee Involvement, Music, Art and HIV/AIDS.[11]
