Geoffrey Axworthy
Geoffrey Axworthy is an artistic director, theatre-maker and founder of Nigeria's first school of drama at University of Ibadan, as well as the first artistic director of Sherman Theatre (Theatr y Sherman.)

During a turbulent time in Cardiff's artistic scene, C.W.L (Bill Bevan), former Principal of University College Cardiff (now Cardiff University) convenes a working party and invites Geoffrey Axworthy to put forward a proposal to use a substantial donation from the Harry and Abe foundation to create a major arts venue. This ultimately resulted in the creation of Sherman Theatre, which officially opened its doors on the 23rd of November, 1973.
