George Edward Schmidt (1913 in Columbus – Killed in action 6 June 1944 in Normandy) was an American Second Lieutenant in the United States Army during World War II. He was a recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross, awarded for extraordinary heroism against an armed enemy in circumstances that did not justify the award of the Medal of Honor.
