George David Murray-Jones (born 27 October 2004) is an English professional footballer who plays for Nottingham Forest, as a goalkeeper.[3]

Career

Born in London, Murray-Jones began his career in the youth setup of Southend United, before he signed for Premier League side Manchester City on 15 July 2021.[4]

In July 2022, he signed his first professional contract at Manchester City,[5] and on 18 October, Murray-Jones featured on the bench for Manchester City U21's during an EFL Trophy game against Derby County, which resulted in a 3–1 away win.[6] A month later, Murray-Jones was again amongst the substitutes during a 1–1 draw against Grimsby Town. Grimsby Town would go on to win the penalty shoot-out, however.[7]

In the following campaign, Murray-Jones played the full 90 minutes against Grimsby Town on 29 August 2023 – which Manchester City U21's would end up winning on penalties.[8]

In February 2024, after making a further two appearances in the EFL Trophy, Murray-Jones was loaned out to Northern Premier League Premier Division side FC United of Manchester until the end of the season.[9] After making 11 appearances during the duration of the loan deal, Murray-Jones returned to Manchester City.

On 30 August 2024, after three years at the Etihad Stadium, Murray-Jones left Manchester City and signed for fellow Premier League side, Nottingham Forest on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.[10]

International career

Murray-Jones has represented England squads at youth level, most recently England under-16.[10]
