Gergeranian Pear
Pyrus gergerana is a species of tree in the family Rosaceae. It is a wild pear endemic to Armenia, only found near Ger Ger Village in the southeastern part of the country. Believed to be the ancestor of the commercial modern pear. Estimated to be only 50 trees left in the wild, there are currently no conservation efforts at this time. [1]

Description
Pyrus gergerana differs from other species by the form and shape of its leaves and fruits. Blooms from April to June, and fruit ripens in September. Fruits are large (3-3.5 cm in diameter) [2]
