Jonas Deichmann in Mexico, during round-the-world triathlon when he earned the nickname German Forrest Gump

German Forrest Gump is the nickname of German athlete Jonas Deichmann.[1] The nickname was initially coined in Mexico by Mexican media during Jonas' triathlon around the world.[2] However, the nickname stuck and has been used to describe Jonas in various languages. After the world triathlon, Jonas continued to wear a cap from Bubba Gump Shrimp Company as a nod to the nickname.[3]
