Ginger Gorman (born 1978) is an Australian freelance journalist and author, and a former producer and presenter at Australian Broadcasting Corporation. She holds a range of journalism awards including the 2015 United Nations Association of Australia Media Peace Award and 2007 National Press Club (Australia) Health Journalism award.
Education and career[edit]
Gorman attended Narrabundah College in Canberra then completed a BA in Journalism at RMIT University, joining Fairfax Media as a reporter in 2000 then moving to Radio Triple J as a reporter in 2005. Between 2002 and 2015, Gorman was a reporter for ABC in a range of locations including Melbourne, Canberra and Cairns. In 2015 she went freelance and has since reported widely on domestic violence, stalking, and social justice for News Corp Australia and Fairfax Media.
Troll Hunting[edit]
In 2013, Gorman was targeted by online hate groups who threatened her family,[1] which led her to write a series of articles between 2013 and 2017 about persistent internet trolls for Fairfax Media and then a book, Troll Hunting,[2] which was published by Hardie Grant in 2019.
