After the release of her hit debut song So What, Fantana decided to give Ghanaians another single to solidify her grounds in the Ghanaian music industry. Even though So What was a massive hit, a small section of the public said it was a weak song. By releasing Girls Hate on Girls, she proved her musical prowress[2]

The music video was shot on location in South Africa. This was Fantana's second music video that was shot in South Africa. The music video has a high school vibe. In the music video, Fantana overcomes some mean girls in her high school. The music video ends in a scene where she is having a birthday party and she hugs her crush.[3]
Reception[edit]
The song has received a considerable share of criticism, mostly positive. With most media outlets stating that she has come out of her comfort zone with the release of Girls Hate on Girls. Some media outlets in Ghana also stated that they love the song so much and that the video has excellent quality.[4]
