"Tamna Tamna"[1] is a song by Imphal-based alternative rock/indie rock band Solace Her. The song was released on 19 March 2019, as the band's debut single. Tamna Tamna is the most covered Meitei song on YouTube.
Music video
An official music video of Tamna Tamna was released on YouTube on 19 March 2019, with a total length of nine minutes and fifty-eight seconds on the Studio Dominance channel. The music video is directed by Edwin Haorokcham.
The story takes place in the 1990s, in the small state of Manipur, India. Tamna Tamna depicts the event of devastating serial terror attacks in Manipur by an international terrorist group called O.W.L. At the same time, Texas plays as a photographer who is in a relationship with a painter played by Prinalini Thingom. One day, the photographer finds a 135 film format, which he later learns means his girlfriend is part of the O.W.L group that was planning the serial attacks in Imphal city. He discovers Kangla Palace to be the next bombing location, so he finally decides to take the matter into his own hands and ends the girl's life to save thousands.
Cast

Music video production [2]
Development
Influenced by the conflict of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act in Manipur, Edwin Haorokcham[3] wrote 20 pages of treatment after the final music recording. Edwin contacted and teamed up with Ratan Sapam at Studio Dominance to work on the project with Uchek Society. Location scouting began in early 2019 with the band members. The textures of the wall in every indoor location were the main concern during scouting. After finalising the location, Edwin approached the lead actor Texas from a mutual friend and met at Porompat to discuss the project. Prinalini Thingom was discovered by Edwin on Instagram and turned out to be the daughter of a well-known Manipur film actor, Pritam Thingom. Edwin stated "the video was based in the 1990s because it was the most crucial years of the arms conflict in Manipur". O.W.L is a fictional group created by Edwin for the music video. Production began on 9 February 2019 at RKCS Art Gallery. The video was produced on a low budget. Ton Wangkheimayum and Shrikanth were the unit managers of the production. Niranjoy Luwangcha was appointed as the production manager. The production took seven working days to complete. The whole music video is graded in low vibrant and tinted light sepia. In early March 2019, the releasing date was fixed and announced from the band's social media pages.
Locations and sets
Filming locations were mostly in Imphal West district and Imphal East district. They include RKCS Art Gallery, the Nongthombam family home (Keirao), Tera, Keishamthong and MM School, Wangkhei. 1990s sets were built at Keirao and Tera. Props were made to portray the terrorist group O.W.L's intention and mission.
Cinematography
Edwin was also the cinematographer of the video. It was filmed on Sony with a single camera. Edwin performed camera testing in early February and later shot the entire video in 4K resolution. After Post-production, it was downscaled to full HD for YouTube. Post-production was conducted at Studio Dominance, Imphal. Light smoke and heavy smoke were used in every indoor scene for a hazy and vintage look. A kit lens 16–50 mm Lens (ILCE-6300L) was used to film the entire video. All aerial scenes were filmed on a DJI Mavic Pro by Rishi Y.
Release
Tamna Tamna was released and premiered on 19 March 2019 with a musical event at MAASI, Keirao. Local bands and artistes such as Solace Her, Lai Lik Lei, Shrikant Chingangbam, Blademist, Tony performed at the event along with magician Daya Sharma. Edwin Haorokcham's short film Iriguchi[4] was also premiered at the event, which features Devan Sapam, AKS Romie, Prinda and Niranjoy Luwangcha. Iriguchi original soundtrack was performed by the indie band Lai Lik Lei, which was released on 19 February 2018.[5] Hee-Yai group of company and Studio Dominance were also the sponsors of the event.
