Glamorous (rapper)

JoAnn Berry (born July 19, 1967), better known by her stage name Glamorous is an American rapper from Freeport, NY. She was Long Island's first female rapper to hit vinyl in the mid 1980s.[citation needed] She is a cousin of Chuck Berry.

Career[edit]

Her first LP was with the Glamour Girls Oh Veronica Veronica on Pop Art Records.[1] Her acceptance into the Juice Crew came when Mr. Magic hired her to do a promo for his show "The Rap Attack" on 107.5 WBLS in the 1980s. She released an LP on Prism Records[citation needed] Good to Go and I know you want Me and joined Cold Chillin' Juice Crew All Stars. She participated in the Hip Hop Black history LP Evolution where she portrayed Maya Angelou.

Glamorous worked with producers such as Nile Rodgers, Marley Marl, Hollywood and Tony D. Fly Ty Tyrone Williams was her manager. She worked at Cold Chillin Records and as an artist on the label.
