Global Upasaka Federation (Chinese: 全球居士联合会) is an international non-profit Buddhist organization. It was founded in Colorado in 2012.[1]
History
It officially registered in 2016 in Shanghai.[2][1]
The founders, Ru Zhen Upasaka, Ni Ke Upasaka, and Ru Dao Upasaka, discovered that the public's understanding of Buddhism in modern society lacked awareness that the Buddha Dharma and life are one.
Theology
The purpose of the federation is to preach Buddha Dharma to ordinary people and let them understand that Buddha Dharma is true through Buddhist faith.[1] In this process, they discovered that upasakas of different Buddhist Dharmas hold many misunderstandings. This was not the true meaning of Buddhism. So the federation will provide a platform for communication among all Dharma practitioners.[1]
