The Gold Future Cup (金未来杯 Kin Mirai Hai) is an annual competition organized by the editorial staff of Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2004. The winner of the competition wins the rights to launch a series in the magazine in the future.
Overview[edit]
Every summer, 4 to 7 one-shot manga by new manga artists nominated by the editorial department are published in consecutive issues of Weekly Shōnen Jump. [1] The Gold Future Cup will be awarded to the nominated work that receives the best results in both the reader surveys and the editorial department evaluation. As of 2023, it has been held 17 times and all artists who won it until 2021 have been serialized. The competition has had many notable winners and participants in the past, including Yuuki Tabata, Ryuhei Tamura and Hiroshi Shiibashi.
