820 millions of Golem's native token, GNT (Golem Network Token), were sold out raising roughly 8.6 millions of dollars (820.000 ETH) in approximately 29 minutes during the ICO on November 13, 2016.[5][6][7] On 10 April 2018, 18 months after the ICO, Golem's developers released its beta main network.[8]

Golem allows users to rent the computing power and pay for it in Golem Network Token.[9] Also, people can rent out their own computing resources by using Golem.[10]
