Gospel Tangents Podcast is a podcast hosted by Rick Bennett featuring interviews with individuals and scholars on Mormon topics. The podcasts are focused on all aspects of Mormonism, principally on the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but includes offshoots including the Community of Christ, The Church of Jesus Christ (Bickertonite), Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Strangite) and Mormon fundamentalism. The range of guests includes faithful, critical, former Mormons, and non-Mormons.
History[edit]
In February 2017, Rick Bennett created the Gospel Tangents podcast as an open discussion of Mormon issues with the intention of providing a platform to learn more about Mormon and Restoration history. Through interviews, Gospel Tangents focused on varying Mormon experiences and perspectives, including antagonistic, apologetic, intellectual, gay, black, fundamentalist, feminist, and dissenting. Several notable Mormon figures were guests including Gregory Prince, Margaret Blair Young, D. Michael Quinn, John C. Hamer and Margaret Toscano.
