ThemeGotham City

Gotham City, is one of the "themed lands" in many Six Flags theme parks around the United States. Themed to the dark and dangerous fictional streets of Gotham City from DC Comics, Gotham Cities are home to attractions, restaurants, and decor. The buildings in Gotham Cities are made in an industrial-style to invoke a feeling of unease, that the guests are walking through a bad part of town such as at Six Flags Over Texas, as well as Six Flags America.

Six Flags Over Texas[edit]

Gotham City was first introduced into a Six Flags Over Texas in 1998[1]. The same year Time Warner Entertainment sold the Six Flags company to Premier Parks, which went on to change its name to Six Flags. In the late 1990's following the sale of the company, Six Flags Over Texas experienced a high influx of new coasters, the first being an attraction themed after Mr. Freeze. The addition of the new DC Comics themed coaster gave the park the idea to rename the area to Gotham City.

In 2015 an announcement[2] was made that the themed area received an expansion for the following season, featuring three new attractions. The new rides included The Riddler Revenge, Catwoman Whip, and Harley Quinn Spinsanity.
