Govinda Marasini (born 15 February 1994) is a Nepalese freelance journalist and researcher. He contributes to youth, social, political, and tourism journalism in Nepal, working with several media platforms.
Background
Marasini was born in Putalibazar Municipality, Syangja District,[1] Nepal. He earned a master's degree in political science and a one-year B.Ed. from Tribhuvan University in 2022. He previously completed a bachelor's degree in journalism and political science from R.R. Campus, Kathmandu in 2016, and a +2 in mass communication and sociology from Navodit Vidya Kunja H.S.S. in 2010.[1]
Career
Marasini began his career as a reporter in Saikshik National Magazine and Sarokar Today before working as a district desk editor for Image Channel. He later served as a desk editor at Samudrapari.com and Darpansansar.com. Since 2019, he has been a sub-editor at Nayapusta.com[2] and Kathmandupress.com.[3] Alongside journalism, he works as a freelance researcher focusing on youth, social issues, art, and tourism.[4]

Marasini has authored several research and journal articles, including works on Nepali media, youth, disaster management, and drug abuse. His articles have appeared in Samhita Journal (Press Council Nepal), Unity Journal (Nepali Army HQ)[5], and Safe Life (Ministry of Home Affairs).

Affiliations
Marasini has served as secretary of the Online Journalist Association (2021–2023). He is a member of the International Federation of Journalists (since 2020) and the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (since 2016).[11]
