Govt. LPS Kadampanad (Bhagavathipuram-Aruvikkara)
Government LPS Kadampanad is a public school located in Aruvikkara Grama Panchayath in Vellanadu block of Nedumangad Taluk in Thiruvananthapuram district. Children in grades one to five studies here. Kadampanad and Bhagavathipuram are two wards of the Aruvikkara Grama Panchayat. In spite the officially known as Kadambanad LPS, the school is located in Bhagavathipuram. Therefore, it is popular as Bhagavathipuram LP School among the locals.

Govt.LPS Kadampanad is a village school which is more than 140 years old. The school was started in 1877, Chittathod near Bhagavathipuram. At the beginning it was a Kudippallikoodam (കുടിപ്പള്ളിക്കൂടം) also known as 'Aashan Pallikoodam' (ആശാൻ പള്ളിക്കൂടം) was a popular form of schooling. This was an indigenous elementary schooling method where an instructor or aashan (ആശാൻ) would teach young children about alphabets, numbers, elementary arithmetic, writing as well as generic aspects of life such as personal discipline, cleanliness, morality and general knowledge. Later, the government owned school and started in Bhagavathipuram. The land in which school situates now was donated by Rajagopalan Pillai, in 1975. There are now about 30 students in pre-primary and grades one to five. Children receive an activity-based education along with learning. Events like school's organic farming have been broadcast on Doordarshan.

Teachers[edit]
There are 4 teachers including the headmaster and one teacher in the pre-primary. There is a PTCM and a cook to prepare lunch. There are teachers appointed by the PTA to train in Computer, Dance, Hindi, Abacus, Music, Yoga and Karate. Teachers and students at the C.A.T. college provide training in spoken English to children.
