Graham Glass
Graham Glass is a British–American technology entrepreneur, educator, inventor, and author, best known as the founder and chief executive officer of CYPHER Learning,[1] a leading AI-powered learning management system provider. His contributions span academic teaching, enterprise software architecture, and the development of innovative online education platforms.
Early Life and Education
Graham Glass was born in the United Kingdom. He attended Haberdashers’ Aske's Boys’ School in Elstree, where he completed his secondary education in 1980.[citation needed]
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Southampton in 1983 and a Master of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1985,[2] where he later served as a lecturer in computer science.[3]

Academic and Early Entrepreneurship
After completing his graduate studies, Glass joined the University of Texas at Dallas as a senior lecturer in computer science. During this period, he developed and delivered advanced programming and design courses, igniting his lifelong passion for education technology.[3]
In 2000, he founded The Mind Electric, a web services and distributed computing company. The Mind Electric was acquired by webMethods in 2003, after which Glass served as Chief Technology Officer of webMethods’ infrastructure division. From October 2003 to June 2005, he was Chief Technology Officer at Software AG, furthering his expertise in enterprise integration and agile development methodologies.
Founding CYPHER Learning
Frustrated by the limitations of traditional on-premise learning systems, Glass established CYPHER Learning in 2009 to deliver scalable, cloud-hosted learning platforms for academic institutions, businesses, and entrepreneurs.
Patents and Publications
Glass holds over 15 patents in web services, infrastructure, and distributed computing. He has authored several textbooks on software analysis and design,[4] published by Prentice Hall, and contributed numerous articles on intelligent learning systems.
