Green Psychotherapy, PC, 1918 Bonita Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94704-1014

Green Psychotherapy, PC is a private psychotherapy practice located in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Its approach to psychotherapy emphasizes the importance of understanding the goals and priorities of clients, providing the basis for articulating each person’s unique vision for a better future. Therapy also addresses specific problems such as anxiety, depression, and interpersonal conflict. The organization’s motto is “Your Life. Your Future.”[1]

Psychologist Douglas Vakoch serves as both Director and Chief Executive Officer of Green Psychotherapy, PC.[2] He believes that effective therapy occurs when clients feel safe, and therapists are able to hear, understand, and accept their clients.[1] Building on his work in ecopsychology,[3][4][5] Vakoch is especially focused on discovering ways that people can develop an enhanced sense of well-being through increased engagement with nature.[6]

Articles of incorporation were filed with the California Secretary of State to establish the company as a Professional Corporation (PC), with the purpose of engaging in the professional practice of psychology.[7] As of May 2019, Green Psychotherapy, PC was one of only 331 psychology companies listed in Crunchbase, a platform that provides business information about both private and public companies worldwide.[8]

Both the principal executive office and the principle business office of Green Psychotherapy, PC are located at 1918 Bonita Avenue in downtown Berkeley, California.[2][9] The company also has clinical offices in Oakland and in San Francisco’s Lower Nob Hill neighborhood.[10][11] The San Francisco office is at 815 Hyde Street, in a building that previously held the East Exchange Telephone Company. This was the only building in that area to survive the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, due to the structure’s concrete and steel construction.[12][13]
