Gregorio Napoleone (born August 1964) is an Italian businessman, and co-founder and executive chairman of Stirling Square Capital Partners, a pan-European private equity firm that specialises in the transformation and international expansion of mid-market businesses. [1] He is a Trustee of New York University (NYU) and a member of the Dean’s Council at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York.[2]
Early life and education
In 1992, he was selected as one of 40 European executives to participate in the Executive Training Programme,[citation needed] an 18-month scholarship-funded initiative sponsored by the European Union and Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.[citation needed]
Career
Napoleone began his career at Bankers Trust, where he worked as an associate from 1989 to 1991.[3][4] In 1993, he joined the Ferrero Group as Asia Pacific area manager for finance, planning, and control.[4] He returned to Bankers Trust from 1994 to 1995 before moving to DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, where he served as a principal from 1995 to 2000.[5] During his time at DLJ in New York, he completed the NASD Series 7 certification and underwent training related to governance and regulatory compliance under FSMA 2000 and FCA guidelines.
In 2000, Napoleone co-founded Tetragon Partners, where he worked as managing director until 2002.[citation needed]
In 2002, he co-founded Stirling Square Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on mid-market companies with enterprise values between €100 million and €500 million.[6] The firm manages over €4 billion in assets across multiple funds and portfolio companies operating in Europe and internationally.[7] He serves on the firm’s management board, investment committee, operating and risk management committee, and sustainability committee, which he chaired until March 2025.[8][7]
Since 2011, Napoleone has served as a director of Omni Helicopters International (OHI), a provider of air mobility and delivery services in Latin America. He was appointed chairman of the OHI Group in May 2024.[citation needed]
He has been chairman of the Board of Isoclima Group, a specialty glass manufacturer, since 2017.[citation needed]
Philanthropy
Napoleone is a Trustee of New York University (NYU)[2]and a member of the Dean’s Council at the Tisch School of the Arts.[9]
He is married to art collector and philanthropist Valeria Napoleone.[10][11][12] Together, they support initiatives that promote contemporary art and female representation in the arts.[13][not in citation given] In 2012, they published Catalogue of Exquisite Recipes, with proceeds benefiting a charity supporting individuals with Down syndrome.[14][not in citation given]
