Background[edit]
Tony Santana (Edward Anthony Regalado Santana) is a rapper born in the Dominican Republic. He grew up in Zurich, Switzerland. As a child, he joined the choir of the Jesuit Church in Lucerne where he developed his passion for singing. In 2008, Santana composed a song, El Dinero, and presented it to Fidel Perez, an agent who had previously worked with the bachata group Aventura, to find a partner. Perez suggested him to form a duo with Alfred Cruz ("Diddy Cruz") to perform together.
Grupo Extra has worked with popular stars such as Daddy Yankee, Wyclef Jean, Jorge Celedón, Los Van Van from Cuba, Orquesta Guayacán, Prince Royce and Hector Acosta.[1]
