Guillermo Garcia (businessman)
Guillermo Garcia (born 1749 in Bonao, Captaincy General of Santo Domingo) was a highly influential businessman in many South American countries.
Information[edit]
Garcia controlled many of the oil and forestry markets in countries such as Brazil and Chile. However, after years of prosperity his business took a downfall when North American businessmen took over many of the South American businesses. The monopolistic power of the Americans caused Garcia to go bankrupt within a few short months. Garcia went into a stage of depression and began eating unhealthily, resulting in a heart failure by the time he was 54.[citation needed]
