Guy Katz
Guy Katz (born 12 May 1982) is a German economist, writer, speaker, and businessman.[1] He is a professor of International Management at the Munich University of Applied Sciences.[2][3]
Career and Advocacy
Katz' dissertation from the LMU ‘‘Intercultural Negotiation – the Unique Case of Germany and Israel’’[4] studied the field of intercultural relations regarding German-Israeli business negotiations.[5][6] He received a scholarship from Ernst-Ludwig-Ehrlich-Studienwerk (ELES), for which he received the "Ernst-Ludwig-Ehrlich-Medal" for outstanding contributions to the Jewish community in 2011.[7] He released the book ‘‘I’ll Do It!’’ in 2020,[8] and is a regular contributor to the German news site Focus Online.[9]
Katz specializes in international management and intercultural negotiations. He is the founder of the Bavarian-Israeli Partnership Accelerator, a joint initiative of the two regions promoting intercultural entrepreneurial teamwork.[10][11] He held two TEDx talks, "The Power of Positivity", and "How to write an email that will always be answered".[12][13]
Since October 2023, Katz has actively organized marches and demonstrations against antisemitism during the Gaza war, including the ‘‘Run For Their Lives’’ initiative, with over 1,000 participants in Munich.[14] He also spearheaded Germany’s largest anti-antisemitism demonstration in 2024, attracting over 10,000 attendees and over 100 organizations.[15]
In 2025, Katz co-initiated the cross-border civil society alliance DACH gegen Hass (Germany–Austria–Switzerland against Hate), which united more than 40,000 signatories and over 250 organizations behind a Five-Point Plan to combat antisemitism. The plan called for stronger education and awareness of Jewish life, improved legal protections, enhanced visibility and security for Jewish institutions, expanded partnerships and cultural exchange with Israel, and closer cross-border monitoring of antisemitic incidents. The campaign culminated in a major demonstration at Munich’s Königsplatz on 5 October 2025 and the formal submission of the petition to the Petitionsausschuss des Deutschen Bundestages later that month.[16][17][18][19]
Katz works with Bavarian and German institutions to combat antisemitism, including training programs for antisemitism officers at universities and creating behavioral guidelines for schools and higher education institutions.[20]
Personal life
Katz lives in Munich with his wife and two children. He is a licensed pilot and flight instructor, volunteering with ‘‘Flying Hope,’’ a charity that provides free flights for children in need.[21]
