Guzema Fine Jewelry (commonly known as Guzema) is a brand of handcrafted fine jewelry from Ukraine. Among celebrities who wore Guzema Fine Jewelry are the First Lady of Ukraine – Olena Zelenska,[1][2][3] President of the European ParliamentRoberta Metsola, actresses Katheryn Winnick, Hannah Waddingham, Kim Catrall, Milla Jovovich and others.[4]

History[edit]

Guzema Fine Jewelry was officially launched in 2016.[5][6][7]

In 2017 the first Guzema Fine Jewelry flagship boutique was opened in Kyiv.[8]

Following this year, the brand introduced its first charitable piece – Charity Chain, proceeds from sales of which were transferred to the ’Tvoya Opora’ foundation to help the needs of children suffering from heart conditions.[9]

In November 2017, the Guzema Fine Jewelry team was honored with the Best Startup award at Elle Style Awards.[10]

In the summer of 2018, the brand was presented at Los Angeles Fashion Week.

In 2019, the team presented the second charitable drop – the Inspirement Chain necklace, created in collaboration with the ‘I Can!’ project of the Olena Pinchuk Foundation. All funds raised from the sales contributed to the development and support of business projects created by women.[11][12]

In the same year, the Love It Rhythm jewelry capsule collection, created in collaboration with Ukrainian artist Monatik, won the Elle Style Awards in the ‘Fashion Collaboration’ category. Guzema also collaborated with Kateryna Kukhar – prima ballerina of the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine on the Prima collection.[13]

In 2021, Valeriya Guzema established Guzema Foundation – a charitable organization that assists children receiving treatment at the Chernihiv Regional Children's Hospital.[14][15][16]

To mark Ukraine's Independence Day in 2021, together with Gunia Project Guzema launched a collaborative collection titled Nezalezhna (Independent).[17]

With the start of the full scale Russian invasion in 2022, the brand suspended its operations and directed all its resources to volunteer activities. During the first three months, all of Guzema Fine Jewelry's profits were fully donated to charity and humanitarian aid. Guzema Foundation expanded its efforts to support the Ukrainian army and civilians affected by the occupation.[18] In May 2022, the boutique and production were reopened.[19]

In June 2022, the brand designed two collections dedicated to liberty and Ukrainian heritage – Freedom and Spadok.[20][21][22] All proceeds from the sales of Freedom collection items are continuously being donated to Guzema Foundation as the line was designed for charitable purposes.[23][24]

During the Eurovision song contest held in May 2023 the brand was worn by host Hannah Waddingham.[25]

In April 2024, Guzema Fine Jewelry opened a third boutique in Lviv.[26]
