Haatepah Clearbear (born 1998) is an Indigenous model and actor.[1] He is best known for his modeling campaigns for major American brands including Ralph Lauren, Gucci, and Nike.[2] He has also gained a wide following on TikTok, where his videos “provide bite-size lessons in Native American history.”[3][4]
Haatepah and his twin brother, Nyamuull, grew up just outside of San Francisco in Pacifica, California, where they were raised by their adoptive fathers.[5] Haatepah and his brother moved to Los Angeles from the Bay Area after one of their parents passed away from cancer.[6]
Haatepah was discovered by the casting director Daniel Peddle after posting pictures on Instagram.[7] He is represented by the Los Angeles branch of Storm Management.[8] In 2021, he appeared in Vogue México alongside the Oaxacan model Karen Vega, who was the first indigenous Oaxacan to appear on the cover of Vogue.[9][10] Haatepah is involved with both activism for Indigenous rights and for environmental causes.[11][12]
